Maintenance Time Between Failure | MTBF

The Maintenance Time Between Failure is a performance management indicator for maintenance activities that measures the average time between consecutive failures.

The MTBF measures the reliability of a machine and aims to calibrate operating times to current operating conditions in order to extend them.

In an operations reliability, it is thus possible to intervene more on the intrinsic equipment reliability than on the whole system reliability, equipment redundancy or technician intervention management.
